Just as the title suggests, this is an in depth look at CIOs in New Zealand according to the 2007 CIO Salary Survey - examining their compensation, their main concerns, their biggest challenges, and what they feel their career options are.
Some highlights:
- 62% are satisfied with their compensation (for a look at median salaries - check here)
- 33.8% are above the 150K bracket
- Average 6% increase in salary over previous year
- 17% are dissatisfied with their pay - 4% keen to change jobs, 15% willing to check out other job options and more than half are open to new opportunities
- 76% find business issues will be their main challenges in the next 12 months
- Finding and retaining skilled staff remains a concern.
- 47% have worked in IT overseas - mostly the UK then Australia
- Australia a top destination for those wanting to go overseas
It's interesting to compare to their Asian counterparts in the recent MIS Asia IT Leaders Salary Survey.
